So, I'm sitting here at my desktop waiting for some good servers to open up on BFBC2, and I find myself getting rather hungry.
Leftovers from lunch spring to mind and I grab a bowl of spaghetti bolognaise and sit back down.
Finally, I connect to Arica and I'm still bnusy noshing away at my pasta. Dilema steps in... how do I eat AND play at the same time. I need to hold a fork, and a mouse, while gracefully skipping through the dunes at C trying to dodge flak from those pesky russian grenades.
I now have a red stain on my brand new hoody. (In the immortal words of Ee-Aw: "Oh bother...")
Lest this be a warning to you fellow gamers... don't food while gaming...
or play naked

Even more than Rooney
I love Carey Pike... and I want the entire world to know (smiley face goes here)
All cynics can shut the fuck up
All cynics can shut the fuck up
Look down below...
I just though of something… something so bizarre it just might work.
So each year there are a select few people who find it within themselves to test the laws of physics and hurl themselves off of tall buildings in an attempt to reach a state of terminal velocity before coming to an abrupt on the road thus forcing the body to crumple into a boney mass of general “ouchiness”
This thought does have a prelude though. I’ve seen football pitches on the roves of some Japanese office blocks. Make sense I guess to have it up with the whole over-crowded city thing going on below. So yes… fields on rooftops right. But what happens when some poor sod shanks the ball and sends in whistling through the air and down to the streets. That china just lost his favourite aerodynamically designed, Nike football (aerodynamically down a 47 story building)
So now… why not put huge nets across the gaps between the taller buildings? Not like fishing nets, but rather, the nets they use under the trapeze to prevent acrobats breaking there necks during practice. This way, every time somebody jumps from a building, they land not on an area of hard concrete/tar but rather on a soft lattice of rope. Wait. They might bounce. On that net. Into the façade of the building. Only thought of that now… although that could be quite humorous.
No! That’s a horrible notion … death is seldom funny.
I am going to leave now before I get banished from the interweb for impure thoughts.

Nuclear Fynbos
So there is quite a saga going on. No, it is not the World Cup Football... or our own Jay-Z (Not the rapper you pleb)... or even Malema... What I am in fact referring to is the nuclear reactor on the Weskus that is said to be the answer to Eskom's problems.
So, in the tiniest of nutshells, this is the low down.
People are greatly concerned about a fairly controversial source of energy - a.k.a nuclear power - that is situated in an area that could be considered the hub biodiversity - a.k.a. fynbos.
If you are a bunny loving, tree hugging hippie you may not be completely flattered by my thoughts on the situation; and that's not necessarily a bad thing, as I also feel that the Ozone Layer is a pretty rad thing. But this is merely a figment of my imagination that some may find quite amusing. Enjoy. Well at least try to.
Picture this. The nuclear reactor has a core meltdown and there is a thirty kilometre radius of nuclear fallout and the land is covered in ash. Add in a covering of ominous grey clouds for dramatic effect to give it that lovely B-grade post-apocalyptic feel. Now set the timer for 10 years.
The closer suburbs have been evacuated, but due to poor organization, Atlantis has fallen (again; how poetic). The land has become barren. Most life has been snuffed out of existence and through some bizarre anomaly, the people that survived have become something somewhat... stranger. (Pleb, stop thinking about scary hillbilly horror creatures and read on) Their community has become isolated in the fallout radius, the nuclear half-life preventing efforts to bring them into the already overpopulated city, riddled with famine and disease. Well at least the great Greenpoint stadium can be used to house people.
Oh, I forgot to mention; all fauna has either died or been irradiated and forced into an unpredictable hyper-evolution causing all manner of monstrous entities - including a new breed of super-ostriches from the ostrich farm near Morning Star hit by nuclear fallout.
So... back to the fallout people. Fairly small pockets of survivors now live in a land where only the harshest of creatures endure. It's a dog eat dog world out there and only the strongest survive. Not only a culture of forced inbreeds (which is less rare than one might think) there is a certain amount of cannibalism (also less rare than one might think), with some groups of survivors being forced to turn on there own kind as a source of food. Be or be eaten.
Dont even get me started on the plants. If fynbos could survive with no rain, then they can very well survive in nuclear fallout... and no rain. They'll just become overly poisonous and probably try to eat you if you get to close.
So let us review the situation shall we. Giant birds, man-eating plants and cannibal monsters. But wait... that's all in one place. Sounds pretty biodiverse to me. This reactor seems to the potential to spice things up just enough to have another major Hollywood blockbuster filmed here.
Wouldn't that be fantastic.

In the beginning
This is a blog... and just a blog. I don't expect the world to be completely engrossed by my writing and become mere mindless zombies under the hypnotic control of my words... although it would be nice... No, for the purpose of this blog I should be considered as nothing more than an individual, soullessly tapping away at his keyboard.
So, let's begin
I don't really know what to right about yet. Sue me.
And that concludes my first blog.
